social work is the professional activity of helping individuals, groups, or communities to enhance or restore their capacity for social functioning and to create societal conditions favorable to professional application of social work values, principles, and techniques to one or more of the following ends:

 

사회사업은 개인, 집단 또는 공동 사회를 강화하거나 사회적 기능에 대한 수용능력을 회복시키고 사회사업 가치와 원리, 하나 또는 그 이상의 후속 결과를 이끌 기술의 전문적 적용을 위해 사회적 조건을 적합하게 만들어가는 전문적 활동이다.

 

helping people obtain tangible services;

 

사람들을 돕는다는 것을 실제적인 봉사를 행하는 것이다.

 

providing counseling and psychotherapy for individuals, families, and groups;

 

개인, 가족, 집단을 위해 상단을 하고 심리 요법을 제공하는 것.

 

helping communities or groups provide or improve social and health services;

 

공동체나 집단을 돕는 것은 사회봉사와 의료 서비스를 제공한다.
