It is also known as the "September 11 terrorist incident" after the date of the outbreak. This is a tragic incident in which the 110-story World Trade Center twin towers in New York collapsed and the Pentagon building in Washington was attacked due to multiple suicide attacks at the time of the hijacking of an aircraft on September 11, 2001.

The incident was carried out simultaneously by an Islamic terrorist group that hijacked four civilian aircraft, with time-to-time situations as follows.

At 7:59 a.m., Flight AA11 from American Airlines, carrying 92 passengers, left Boston for Los Angeles. United Airlines flight UA93 carrying 45 people then headed from New Jersey to San Francisco at 8:14 a.m., United Airlines flight UA175 carrying 65 people from Boston to Los Angeles, and American Airlines flight AA77 carrying 64 people from Washington to Los Angeles at 9:14 a.m.

At 8:45 a.m., UA175 crashed into a southern building at 9:03 a.m., shortly after AA11 changed course and crashed into a building north of the World Trade Center. At 9:40 a.m., Flight AA77 crashed into the Pentagon building in Washington, the building south of the World Trade Center collapsed around 9:59 a.m. and Flight UA93 crashed southeast of Pittsburgh at 10:03 a.m. The building north of the World Trade Center completely collapsed around 10:30 p.m., and the aftermath left the 47-story World Trade Center annex building powerless at 5:20 p.m.

The world's superpower, the U.S., quickly turned into a mess, and New York, the center of the world economy and a symbol of the U.S. economy, turned into a panic overnight. Aside from the collapse of U.S. pride in a single stroke, the century's massive bombings have killed 2,800-3500 innocent people in more than 90 countries. As soon as the incident happened, the world was also shocked as the live coverage of the incident was broadcast live throughout the world on CNN's network every minute by minute.

The world economy also failed to do anything in the face of these simultaneous attacks. International interest rates fell at one stroke, and global stock markets faltered. The United States did not open its stock market for a week immediately after the incident, and all international flights to and from the United States were blocked. Americans call it the 'second Pearl Harbor attack,' but it is the first time that the center of the mainland has been attacked by the outside world since the founding of the United States.

The damage caused by the incident was not accurate, but only 2,800-3500 casualties, including the deaths of all 266 passengers aboard four aircraft, 125 dead or missing at the Pentagon building in Washington, and 2,500 to 3,000 dead or missing at the World Trade Center. In addition to 1.1 billion dollars worth of World Trade Center buildings, 40 billion dollars in emergency spending to punish terrorism, and 11.1 billion dollars in federal aid for disasters and extreme disasters, economic activities and property damage make it difficult to translate into currency value.

Three to five hijackers are believed to have been aboard the four hijacked planes, which the FBI found were pilots from Saudi Arabia and Egypt. The U.S. considers Osama bin Laden, an international terrorist from Saudi Arabia, and al-Qaida, his followers, as prime suspects, and other Islamic terrorist organizations, including Hamas, an armed group under the Palestine Liberation Organization, jihad, and Hezbollah in Lebanon, among others.

At 9:31 a.m., shortly after the aircraft crashed into a building south of the World Trade Center, U.S. President George W. Bush defined the terrorist incident as a "clear terrorist attack on the United States" and then ordered government buildings across the country to evacuate, while shutting down major buildings, including the United Nations and the Seas Tower. On the same day, after deciding to close the financial market, he dispatched naval destroyers and other equipment to New York and Washington.

President Bush declared on September 12 that he would retaliate without prior warning against the terrorists and called it 'the first war of the 21st century.' While making a decision on Sept. 15 to deploy ground troops to Afghanistan where bin Laden is hiding, he persuaded Pakistan, Afghanistan's neighboring country, to win promises such as opening its airspace, and named the operation "infinite Operation of Justice" before starting a retaliatory war.

On October 7, the U.S. launched 50 Tomahawk missiles at Kabul Airport in Afghanistan with Britain under the pretext of "war on terror," Jalabad Airport, Kandahar Taliban Command, Herat Airport Oil Storage, Mazar Isharif Taleaf Taleban Military Operations Command, and the Konduz Taliban Regional Military Operations Command, and opened up limited training and Taliban attacks on al-Qaida.

On October 9, 2001, the U.S. and British forces deployed more than 350 air forces around Afghanistan, and on November 20, 2001, they seized all parts of Afghanistan with air strikes using war and bombers, which were free in the Afghan territory, and Afghan Northern Alliance forces. The coalition then ended the war against the Taliban by establishing an interim government, an anti-Taliban regime, on April 22. But the U.S. failed to eradicate bin Laden and his organization, al-Qaida, which it had targeted. Still, the U.S. did not end its "war on terror" but later turned to the Middle East and continued the war on terror, starting the Iraq War on March 20, 2003, completely sinking in 20 days and launching a new transitional government.
